Constructions

These sculptures explore the delicate balance between human design and the geological world. Modern materials—aluminum, lacquered fiberboard, acrylic—are combined with ancient natural fibers, creating a dialogue between precision and craft. Some works are collaborations by Suzanne Dalton and Clyde Foles, a husband-and-wife team, while others are created solely by Suzanne. Exposed mechanical connections meet vivid handwoven sections, with the weaving’s bold colors and visible threads serving as a bridge that unites these contrasting materials into cohesive, striking forms.
